About Me
Hey! I’m Dave and welcome to my site! I am a nature photographer living in central Ohio with my wife and son. While Ohio may not seem like a hotbed for landscape and nature photography, I hope to showcase the smaller details and local destinations while also sharing images from some of my journeys beyond Ohio. Shooting locally is always going to be the majority of my work, but from a young age I have valued and enjoyed traveling, I hope to be able to document my trips around the world here.
After purchasing my first camera in 2019 I really started to invest time and energy into this hobby in 2020. I spent a lot of time learning how my camera works, what the exposure triangle is, how to process with Lightroom, and more recently I’ve begun to tackle Photoshop. I’ve never really considered myself a creative person as I enjoyed other pursuits growing up, but photography has allowed me to explore my own creativity. Whether it is in the field composing an image or at my computer making careful adjustments in Lightroom or Photoshop, photography requires me to fully focus and immerse myself in the task at hand. Part of what draws me to photography is the challenge of learning and growing, there are so many different elements, both technical and artistic, learning how to create and process beautiful images keeps me engaged.
